Indiana Phoenix

Indiana Phoenix is one of Australia's Finest Harmonica Players. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Indiana Phoenix. Indiana has been working towards getting a CD made and produced, he has now done this and it sounds fantastic. Indiana is now travelling the countryside to put together band members to take the CD on the road. He intends to travel Australia, so when he gets to your area, make a point of seeing the show. We've provided a link to Indiana's You Tube directory, here you will find a combination of songs featuring his brilliant harmonica playing and instructional videos. Indiana Phoenix is a master on the harmonica and is willing to share all of his knowledge freely. Indiana uses our mics for harmonica

Resonance Amplifiers

Since we sold our first mic in 2004 we have been looking for the amp that complemented a Loudbark mic perfectly. For all of you customers who have asked us which amp we recommend, well these guys make it. I had the good fortune to run it through its paces at the 2008 Australian Music Association Convention. My thoughts on Harmonica Amps are to use a Class A valve amp. When playing live, use the same amp and mic it to the PA.

I played through the 1/05 with the 12 inch Celestion Speaker and jammed with Steve Iorio (The Vagrants) who was plugged into a 45 watt Resonance amp. As the mic provided more signal than the guitar pickup my 5 watt amp easily kept up with the 45 watt amp and I probably wouldnt bother to mic it up if I only had to keep up with a 45 watt amp in a live situation.

Now heres the best bit for all of you out there who are already playing into a valve amp. With the Resonance amp you don't have to spend hours making adjustments to your controls on your amp and then the rest of your time standing guard to make sure that none of your fun loving mates makes a last minute adjustment "just to help you out". When I first plugged the mic into the amp it just dripped with warm crunchy tone that cut right through. Just luck I thought and made some adjustments trying to find the weak points to the amp. Guess what, every setting worked. I played through the amp over 30 minutes. I found that no matter what settins I made, it sounded great, it sounded loud and it didn't feedback once. I even gave up hiding the mic in my jacket and approaching it from behind to avoid feedback. When I made an adjustment I could confidently just walk up to the amp, make the adjustment and go back to playing.

Using thesound was so good using the Resonance amp that it just begged me to extend myself as a player.

If you are looking for a quality amp to play harp through, give these guys a call and they will do everything they can to get one near you to trial.

I am buying one and can't wait.

Cheers

Justin Carter

We first met Justin when he was a teenager in Portland, Victoria. It has been amazing to watch him develop into the brilliant performer he is today. Justin is a one man band who plays guitar, harmonica and vocals to his own percussion. Justin is a previous winner of the Apollo Bay Music Festival song writing contest. We are sure that Justin will continue to entertain Australian's for many years to come. Justin travels extensively, so be sure to check him out when he plays near you. Justin uses our mics for harmonica & vocal effects.

Ska Vendors

Here at Loubark we embrace many other musical styles, including Ska & Reggae. The Ska Vendors are one of Australia's greatest Ska Bands, which includes a brass section of Saxaphone, Trumpet & Trombone. We have been on two of the Fantastic Ska Cruises that are held once a year cruising around the Sydney Harbour. One of our mics was used for the brass section with Great Success!

Steve Harvell

Steve Harvell from the States who is a Loud Bark player, was kind enough to review our microphones. We were thrilled with his comments as we rate him as a great harp player. Be sure to check out his insiteful comments on all things harmonica related. This guy ignores the hype and gets to the heart of the matter. Steve uses our mics for harmonica.

Pommy Johnson

Pommy has been a great mate for nearly 20 years, he was Australian comedian of the year in 2003. Dispite being know as a comedian, Pommy is also a professional musician and actor. We don't have to recommend that you go and see his comedy because you probably already have and you know how brilliant he is. He has toured the world extensively over the last 20 years and has no plans to stop. Be very afraid because when Pommy performs overseas he is an Ambassador for us all in Australia.

Stringybark McDowell

Stringybark McDowell has pioneered Swampbilly Blues. Stringybark's musical roots are buried deep in the heart of the blues and hasn't succumed to the modern blues trend of lamenting your own social problems, quite simply he tugs at your heart with his lyrics of pure human mysery. Stringy uses our mics for Vocal Effects.

Homesick Joe

While we have only known Joe and his wife Deb for 4 years, they have become some of our most treasured friends. Joe is an incredible drummer, guitarist and songwriter who has played alongside most of Australia's musical legends. It would be easy to say that Joe's level of talent is sickening until you realise just how much work and professionalism Joe attacks every project with. The way that Joe has combined raw talent with sheer hard work, makes him one of our all time favourite musicians. (By the way, Deb's no slouch on the harp). Joe uses our mics for the drums and Deb uses her's for harmonica.

The Crooks

When James 'Tex' Holdom from The Crooks first ordered his microphone from us, we were intrigued, he wanted to use the microphone for dirty vocal effects and didn't want a clean looking mic, his theory was how can you get a dirty blues growl out of a new gleaming mic. This request challenged Michelle in the Art Department who had to take a brand new mic and age the body 50 years in one weekend. When we saw The Crooks perform we understood straight away. There brand of dirty Rockin Blues has to be seen to be believed. Their raw engergy and stage antics, would even make Keith Richards sit up and take notice. Do not ever miss an opportunity to see this band live. The Crooks use their mic for Vocal Effects.
